Liberty Park

Liberty Park – 1400 E. Haskell Street

This 17 acre gem is the home of the City’s new Sapulpa Rotary Centennial Water Park, a water playground system that was completed in 2005 and instantly became one of the City of Sapulpa’s most heavily utilized park facility areas.  The only water feature in town, the facility accommodates the neighborhood needs as well as those throughout the city and county-wide areas.  The Liberty Park Splash Pad is a perfect place to cool off on those hot summer days.  The Splash Pad is free and open to the public from 9:00am – 8:00pm 7 days per week.  The season runs from the Saturday of Memorial Day through mid September.

Judy Rothrock, chairwoman of the Sapulpa Rotary Club’s tremendous Centennial Project, was very enthusiastic about the Project. “The Liberty Park Water Playground facility is an incredible opportunity for the community and something that will benefit everyone.  “And it’s been a wonderful opportunity for our club,” she adds. “Working with the Parks Department on the Liberty Project has injected a lot of enthusiasm among our members as well as the entire Community.” In-ground jets spray water in sheets, buckets, or fountains from colorful tubes and nozzles that drain onto a flat concrete surface. Similar to a water park, but with the simplicity of your backyard sprinkler, splash pads offer children of all ages the chance to cool off without the encumbrances of going to the pool or beach. And because they operate without standing water, splash pads require less maintenance and liability insurance than wading pools and no lifeguard supervision.

The park also contains the state-of-the-art Jubilee 2000 Playground, as well as these other park features: 3 playground areas, 1/2 mile lighted trail, restrooms, lighted ballfield, sand play unit, picnic tables with grills, covered picnic shelter.  Tennis courts are planned for the future as soon as funding becomes available.
